Nordictrack Elite 1000 Treadmill – Key Benefits:

10-Inch, Full-Color Console

The Nordictrack Elite 1000 treadmill comes with a 10-inch full-color, HD, touch-screen console. So you can see your workout stats in full color with a swipe of your finger.

The screen is not as large as similarly priced Nordictrack models like the EXP 14i treadmill for example – which gives you a 14-inch screen. But it’s still pretty good.

The console also comes with 2 digitally amplified speakers and Bluetooth audio capabilities. So you can sync your favorite wireless headphones to your treadmill and listen to your iFit trainer or workout music, completely undistracted.

And to stay cool as you walk or run, there’s also a dual-speed workout fan.

Explore the World with iFit

The Elite 1000 – like all newer Nordictrack treadmills – comes iFit compatible. With iFit you can connect take treadmill online using the Wifi in your home through the screen console.

From there you can run trails all over the world – from the shores of Hawaii to the temples of Thailand. You can run on your own – or follow your trainer as they coach you and even point out landmarks along the way.

And the incline will integrate with iFit so that when you’re walking uphill for example, the treadmill will automatically incline to match the terrain – very cool.

Studio Workouts From Home

You can also take a new workout from the comfort of your living room every day with the iFit studio workouts.

Try a high-energy studio fitness class from your treadmill console. These workouts also include yoga, boot camps, HIIT training, strength training and more.

There are over 16,000 pre-recorded workouts in the iFit library – so you’ll never run out of new things to do!

You can also try the new LIVE streaming class option to follow your favorite trainer in real time.

Or take the class at the same time as your friends and track your stats in real time.

Add Challenge with Incline

You get up to 12% incline on this treadmill. It’s a great way to add some uphill high intensity interval training to your workouts and burn more calories.

You can control the incline from your treadmill – or your iFit trainer can also control it as you go along in your workout.

Lots of Room To Move

You also get a generous 60-inch belt with this treadmill. So you can pick up your pace and stretch out with this treadmill – a feature that runners and taller users will love.

Folding with EasyLift Assist

This treadmill folds up easily and locks into place. There’s a shock-assisted fold to save the strain on your back.

Integrated Tray for Added Storage

There’s also a tray added to the stability bar underneath the treadmill. This may seem like a small thing – but it’s a really handy place to store your keys, extra phone, tv remote etc.

Nordictrack Elite 1000 Review – Any Drawbacks?
Limited Incline – No Decline

While you do get incline on this treadmill – it goes up to a top limit of 12%. This should be fine for most people – but at this price point, you would really expect to see a bit more.

If you think you’re going to need more of a challenge, you may want to consider the Nordictrack Commercial models like the Commercial 1750 – with up to 15% incline.

And there’s no decline on this unit – which you do get with similarly priced models like the EXP10i Treadmill. (which also gives you a stronger motor as well).

iFit Membership

iFit is a subscription service and there’s some confusion over this. Does the treadmill work without iFit? Yes.

You don’t need to have the full iFit subscription to use this treadmill. (You can use the Free iFit app version, which includes a few built-in workouts if you want some extra challenge or use the treadmill in manual mode).

Bottom Line?

If you’re looking for an affordable mid-range treadmill that will give you a more immersive training experience, you may want to consider the Elite 1000.

Watch your results in full color – or even explore famous trails all over the world.

You can track your progress over time – or follow your favorite trainers and take live online fitness classes with them.

Is it the best mid-range treadmill Nordictrack makes? No.

It falls down a bit in areas like incline/decline, motor power and the size of the screen. But it’s ok – and if you can get a great deal on it, you’ll probably be happy with it.
