You’re about to see a lot more of Shane Gillis. Fresh off of his debut Saturday Night Live–hosting gig, the comedian’s new TV show, Tires, screeches onto Netflix this spring. Gillis not only stars in the six-episode comedy series, but also serves as executive producer and co-creator. The scripted series will premiere May 23, which follows Gillis’ sold-out performances during Netflix Is a Joke Fest earlier in May.
And now, it’s been announced ahead of the series premiere that Tires has already been renewed for a second season next year, marking the latest development in Netflix’s expanding partnership with Gillis, which also includes a new stand-up special to premiere in 2025.
While fans might be used to seeing Gillis behind a mic — his first Netflix comedy special, Beautiful Dogs, premiered in 2023 — the fictional Tires moves him off the stage and into the world of a bustling auto repair chain. Keep reading to learn everything you want to know about the upcoming series.
